The Trade Commissioner Service provides non-repayable grant funding through CanExport Innovation to help Canadian innovators establish international collaborative R&D partnerships. The program assists small and medium-sized enterprises, academic researchers, and private research centres in formalizing international co-development agreements, licensing intellectual property, and validating proprietary technologies abroad. Eligible Canadian innovators receive matching grant contributions covering up to 75% of eligible project expenses to a maximum of $75,000 CAD.
