Emissions Reduction Alberta provides grant co-funding through the Drilling Technology Challenge to accelerate clean energy innovations in geothermal and drilling operations across Alberta. The program assists technology developers, energy companies, and industrial consortia in demonstrating novel drilling tools, subsurface sensing, and geothermal extraction technologies. Eligible commercial demonstration projects receive non-repayable grant assistance covering up to 50% of eligible project costs to a maximum of $5,000,000 CAD.
