The Ministry of Mines provides multi-year grant funding through the Aboriginal Participation Fund to support dedicated technical capacity within Indigenous communities across Ontario. The program assists First Nation and Métis organizations in funding a full-time Mineral Development Advisor position to lead resource consultations and economic partnership discussions. Eligible Indigenous communities receive grant contributions of up to $50,000 CAD annually toward advisor salary and operational expenses.
